MERCEDES GEARBOX TUNE 4.OL / 5.5L /6.3L ENGINES

Custom Gearbox (TCU) Remap for V8 AMG 7G-Tronic Transmissions

Applicable to 4.0L, 5.5L & 6.2L V8 AMG Models

You own the heart of the Mercedes-AMG brand: a thunderous, hand-built V8 engine. Whether it’s the raw, naturally-aspirated fury of the 6.2L M156, the immense turbocharged torque of the 5.5L M157, or the advanced power of the 4.0L M177, you have a powerhouse at your command. But have you ever felt, especially after an engine remap, that the gearbox is the final barrier to unlocking its true, unbridled performance? A slight hesitation on a downshift, a gear change that doesn’t feel quite as aggressive as the engine’s roar?

The key to perfecting your AMG’s performance lies in creating a perfect harmony between the engine and the gearbox. Our custom TCU (Transmission Control Unit) remap is designed to do exactly that.

Unleash Your V8’s True Ferocity

A gearbox tune isn’t just about speed; it’s about response, intelligence, and control. By recalibrating the complex software that governs your 7-speed transmission, we transform the way your AMG delivers its monstrous power to the road.

Our Custom V8 AMG TCU Map Delivers:

• Faster, More Aggressive Shifts: We dramatically reduce shift times, delivering the crisp, instantaneous, and satisfyingly firm gear changes that a high-performance V8 deserves. The car feels more urgent and alive under acceleration.
• Optimized Sport & Sport+ Logic: The gearbox will now behave like a true performance transmission. It holds gears right to the redline, downshifts aggressively and intelligently under braking, and eliminates hesitation, ensuring you are always in the perfect gear for maximum attack.
• A True Manual Mode: The frustrating delay between pulling the paddle shifter and the gear engaging is virtually eliminated. Your commands are executed with near-instantaneous response, giving you absolute control over the V8’s powerband.
• Raised Torque Limiters (The Essential Upgrade for Tuned AMGs): This is the single most important aspect of a gearbox tune on a tuned V8. The factory TCU software has strict torque limits that physically restrict your engine from delivering its full potential after a remap. We safely recalibrate these limiters, uncaging your engine to deliver every last foot-pound of torque to the tarmac.
• Improved Launch & Drivability: By refining the clutch pressures and engagement, we can improve your car’s launch from a standstill while also enhancing the smoothness and refinement in Comfort mode, making your AMG better in every situation.

Is a TCU Remap Essential For Your AMG?

For any V8 AMG owner seeking the ultimate driving experience, a TCU remap is a transformative upgrade. It is absolutely essential for:

• The Stage 1 or Stage 2 Tuned AMG: A TCU map is a critical, non-negotiable step to safely handle and fully deploy the huge torque gains from an engine remap.
• The Spirited Driver: If you demand the most aggressive, responsive, and intuitive performance from your AMG on the road or track.
• The Driver Seeking Total Control: If you love using the paddle shifters and want an immediate, tactile connection to your transmission.

So, Why Come to MSL for Your Gearbox Tune?

Because we live and breathe high-performance AMGs. We understand that the engine and gearbox are a single, cohesive unit. We apply the same bespoke, meticulous approach to our TCU tunes as we do to our engine remaps, ensuring the result is not just faster, but smarter, stronger, and safer.
